California fire-eater Dan Estrada was n’t on a rescue charge when he saved the lifespan of a bewildered and blind dog .
He was just taking a walk through the sequoia woods with his former friend , Vincent Lopez . The walking was handily located behind his residency in the San Lorenzo Valley .
Estrada has two domestic dog . Together , he and Lopez walk them through the woods .

Eventually , they made their way to a stream – and that ’s where things took a dramatic bend .
Estrada saw something that he at first mistook for a bag of scraps . When he got close , he examine that it was a dog . The dog was n’t move .
The firedog was 12 - year previous Sage , a unsighted Labrador who had gone leave out more than a calendar week before . That daylight in late February , she ’d wandered away from her house and had never pass .

Sage ’s family unit searched desperately for her , put up signs , and even hollo a professional dog tracker . The whole neighborhood was on high alarum for the missing pup , but nobody could find her .
Sage ’s phratry feared the bad – this surface area of California is well - known for its mountain lion population .
On this fated afternoon , Estrada now realise Sage when he saw her ; he lived near her owners , and his dogs played with Sage often . She lifted her head , and Estrada ran up to her and kiss her .

salvia was noticeably exhausted and weakened from what she had run in the woods all alone that week . Estrada lifted her up on his berm and carried her through the forest .
Upon arriving at household , Estrada ’s wife pronto called Sage ’s owner , and they rush him to the veterinary surgeon . By some miracle , Sage was in salutary health .
The neighbourhood rejoiced upon Sage ’s good return . One local resident physician even fix a steak for the whelp ! neighbor held a welcome home party , and even plan a fundraiser for theSanta Cruz County animal shelterto celebrate and pay the deliverance forward .

Sage ’s family offered Estrada a $ 1,000 reward for his epic deed , but he actually pass up it , and suggest that they give the money to an animal rescue organisation alternatively . What an incredible guy !
But , incredible just seems to be in Estrada ’s nature . He has been inundate with phone calls and messages from people praise his life - saving act , but his kid are a little confused . Why ? Because they have seen him rescuing masses ( and other animal ) in his fireman role their whole aliveness .
Estrada has been a firefighter for almost 20 days . About 6 old age ago , he rescued another domestic dog , who was immobilize in a W.C. in a house fulfill with smoke .

Estrada encourage people to perform good acts wherever they can . He say it ’s all too easy to get catch up in spirit , and to omit the chance to be a boon in your community .
In fact , Estrada exercise what he preaches . He and Lopez late go out for their friend ’s bachelor company . While out and about , they came across two adult male with a prostrate tire and no path to set up it . They of course stopped and helped .
As for Sage , she is back to her happy normal life , thanks to Estrada . She can really be found hanging out with her two best friends quite often – Estrada ’s tworescue pups , Koelsch ( a endocarp bull ) and Barnabus ( a dachshund ) .
