COOS COUNTY , NEW HAMPSHIRE — After a toilsome 16 - hour rescue charge in Mount Jefferson , New Hampshire , a strand , injure dog and his owners were successfully rescued .

Bruno live on hiking with his owners in Mount Jefferson in July , but the ragged terrain and the hot , sharp Rock did n’t do his paw any commodity .

He was injure , his paws were cut , and because of the annoyance , he reject to take the air any more .

This was the quandary face by his owner , who did n’t plan for an overnight hike and were low on supplies .

One stayed with Bruno , while the other drop dead down to ask for help .

Since he was a heavy frump , carrying him in the back while descend the exorbitant trail solo was n’t a honest idea .

In came the saviour .

About 15 people respond to an online post by Bruno ’s owner asking for helper .

One of the responders was fellow domestic dog owner Michael Piesniewski .

“ Me being a dog owner myself , just understanding that they were probably in a pretty close spot , I just knew I had to respond,”Piesniewski toldWMUR-9.“So , I got in my truck , and I drove up from Manchester . ”

Zippy , another rescuer , cover in a separate interview withNECNthat Bruno and his owners were also moderately desiccate when they arrived .

He helped carry Bruno himself on the narrow-minded part of the lead .

“ I nibble him up and put him on my back with the harness , and we made it like that , lento but for sure made it across , until we got to the Cap ’s Ridge conjugation when it got a niggling wider,”Zippy say .

Once there , two group with six unpaid worker each carried Bruno in a rescue slingback alternately for 2.5 miles down the mountain .

“ Bruno was just wondrous the whole time,”Zippy said .

“ There were a couple of prison term he would search at me , and he would grumble if I touch his hand while I was bandaging it , but other than that , he would just lie there and lie with we were there to help . ”

Piesniewski , on the other hand , recall how wonderful the experience was despite the stressful situation .

“ It was simultaneously humbling and give me a sense of pride at the same time,”he say . “It was just a complete collaborative travail . There were no self involved . Everybody that was there was there for the sole aim of getting Bruno back house . ”

It was not the first time for Bruno and his owners to go hiking . But this unfortunate incident proved that even the most plan stumble can take an unexpected spell .

Because of the utmost heat and unfortunate incident like falling , there was a rising telephone number of hiking - connect injuries and deaths .

Holly Mokrzecki of theGranite State Dog Recoveryreminded favored owners to always get up before hiking .

She said you may still bring your heel along if they ’re physically able , but be wary of the granite that can tear up their foot .

“ Please , please be prepared before you hit the New Hampshire mountains,”she say . “A lot of these masses that bring their dogs , dog are not conditioned to the mount of New Hampshire . ”
