When his kiddo decided to take a walk of life , Alejandro the German sheepman did n’t leave out a beat , even jumping into a police gondola with little Jose .
A little son ramble away from his Houston habitation Saturday sparked deal of trouble and a hurried search , but fortunately Jose Muñoz had his good acquaintance with him .
Jose and his mother , Jasmine Martinez , put down down that afternoon for a nap . When she woke up a myopic time later , Jose — who is 5 days erstwhile — was gone , Houston ’s KPRCreported . She searched the house to no help . So , take on Jose must have pushed enter the door and wandered aside , she contacted the Houston Police Department .

gratefully , Jose was located a short clock time later on , about one - half mile from his home after attestor spotted him walking along some gear track in the area . And when HPD located the youngster , the family ’s 1 - year - oldGerman shepherd , Alejandero , was walking dutifully by his side .
Alejandro has had a strong trammel with them ever since he joined the family , Jose ’s sister , Samantha Muñoz , told KPRC . " We get [ the domestic dog ] when he was a child . I was not surprised when they said he was walk with him the whole entire metre . "
This is n’t the first timedogs have protected lost childrenand it ’s almost certain to not be the last , given the impulsive nature of untested kiddos and the fact that firedog are probably the beneficial thing in the world . In Jose ’s case , German shepherd are members of the herding group , so when Alejandro saw a member of " his " ruck cuckold away , the instinct to follow along and stick with Jose kicked in .
" The wiener be intimate he had to go with him because he was doing something he was not supposed to do , " HPD Sgt . Ricardo Salas order KPRC .
Even after HPD arrived and gave the boy water supply and a coolheaded space to sit , Alejandro was right there , Velcroed to the boy ’s side .
" I sat the child in my patrol unit of measurement so he could get some AC , and I looked back and the dog leap out in the patrol elevator car , " Salas read .
Now , thanks to the quick activity of HPD and a very loyal doggo , Jose is back home , secure and heavy . HPD says no one will confront any charge , and Jose ’s female parent tell KPRC she ’s looking into installing kid protective locks on her door .
