Georgia nursemaid Kim Still was faced with such a situation when a terminal patient she developed a strong bond with passed away recently , leave her dear dog behind . Still , who ’s been a nursemaid for four class , joined the profession because she want to help people . But she soon learned that work with terminal patients creates interactions that go beyond round-eyed empathy .

When Still arise a particularly close bond with one of her elderly patients , the two started to talk about what would happen to the patient ’s belovedChihuahuamix , Jax .
" She did n’t have any kids . She did n’t have any kinsperson close by . So all she really had was this dog , " Still said . " I was very upset that he was not going to be pass a good fortune . "
After the patient died , the family members that flew in to handle arrangements told Still that they had surrendered Jax to a protection . Despite already having a blackguard of her own at home and never really recall she would get a second , Still was nimble to act as , going to the tax shelter and adopt the small detent herself .

Still says that Jax and her other dog are getting along famously and that Jax now serves as a day-by-day reminder of why she goes to work every day and how important those connection between patient and aesculapian staff can be .
