Getting buried in a sink for 72 hours would be quite scary and unnerving . I ca n’t imagine what it would be like ! That lone , hopeless spirit stuck in a pool of mud would be physically and emotionally crush . Even for the strongest amongst us .
Now , if you believe that gettingburied in a sinkholeis too dreaded that you ca n’t bid it even on your bad foeman , then you would want to crown Maverick for come out strong after braving a 72 - hour long ordeal . There is no question it was tough for him , but the 12 - class - old German shepherd Canis familiaris from Missouri must have the nine lives of a cat !
Although he has other shocking stories to tell – he survive walking into a raccoon trap and being come to by a car – this incident was tragic and scary . The whole thing happened on the 4thof February , 2016 when Maverick rifle missing . His owner , Lisa Valkenburghlooked everywhere for him , to no help .

Two days into the search , and they still could not find him .
The family amaze care and fear for the uncollectible . Since it was in the winter , the fellowship was afraid he might have drowned in the nearby lake . Although dogs course make terrific swimmers , the cold weather would make Maverick ’s legs too weak for swim , as he also suffers from asevere case of arthritis . That means it would be very easy for him to drown .
Fortunately , for him , the possessor discovered where Maverick was . As she walked along a road near her house , she heard a faint howl coming from underground . Valkenburgh knew that must be Maverick and suppose maybe he was snare in a drainpipe pipage in a ditch .

However , when she discovered a sink at the side of the route and walked over to it , she was shocked to line up Maverick there . He had fall promontory - first into the sinkhole which was around five foot down .
The family came over to attempt to delve Maverick out , but , afraid that the dry land around the sinkhole may collapse and completely bury him , they get hold of the fire section for help instead . The gang was fast . They compass to release the sucking mud that held Maverick and finally draw out him free .
He was dehydrated and a tooth had punctured his lip in the fall . They rushed him to the nearest hospital where it took three mean solar day of treatment and care before he was release . The family is grateful for the punishing work of the delivery crew . If it was not for their assistance , they probably would have lose Maverick .

It was a scary billet for the dog , but finally he made a 100 % recovery .
Now that it is so easy for our pets toslip out of our watch and disappear , the question is how often do you keep an eye on your dog , especially when you let him out ?
How would you as the dog proprietor ensure that your dog enjoys her freedom and at the same time ensure that she does n’t cheat too far to get hurt ? It ’s everyone ’s responsibility to secure that our four - legged friends are happy and dependable , wherever they are .
