A courageous goat - herding click key Odin stick to by the stock he guarded and managed to survive the California wildfires .
On October 9th , Roland Tembo Hendel and his family were forced to fly their home and belongings to get out of the path of the raging Tubbs Fire that set about .
The Day the Fires Came
Hendel recalls seeing the first flames across the valley at around 11:00 AM .
Within 5 minute , the sky turn orangish . The flames had raise so tumid and wild that Hendel began speedily load up up all his animals to evacuate .
But he could n’t make his Great Pyrenees budge . Odin , their herding cad , was obdurately refusing to leave the goats behind .

Hendel tried repeatedly to make Odin get in the car , but the hot dog would n’t tell apart from the goat .
Hendel had to make the devastating conclusion to leave the wienerwurst behind and flee for his life .
He cry for a week , keen the loss of his dog . He was certain the pets would n’t survive the wildfires .

A Miraculous Discovery
Upon returning , Hendel found his home and property destroyed , with flaming still burning the nearby forests .
The firing had consumed all of their possessions and burned everything they possess down to the ground .
And then – they see Odin . Odin was with his sis , Tessa , and 8 of the goat . They had miraculously survived this devastating wildfire .

In aFacebook C. W. Post , Hendel wrote that they returned to find Odin and all the goat – even a goat named Tinkerbell , whom Odin never countenance hang too far behind .
Hendel wrote , “ Odin has lived up to his namesake . ” Odin is one of the most revered Gods in Norse mythology , known for his strength and bravery .
After Hendel recover from the electric shock and awe , he do to get Odin and the Capricorn to a refugee tax shelter at the Sonoma County Fairgrounds .

There , the dog receive a checkup from the voluntary vet , who sound out he was in “ remarkable health ” despite what he ’d secure .
Odin was limping because his paw pads were cauterize . But he was given soft bedding to lie in on and will make a full recovery .
After his checkup , Odin was schedule to have a bathing tub , a bridegroom , and a steak dinner .

Recovering from the Devastation
Now , Hendel will have to build another b and bushel his belongings to get their lifetime back to what it was before the wildfires .
To rebuild the barn , the family take off a YouCaring fundraising varlet . As of today , it has raised more than $ 73,000 .
