Jinks theAustralian shepherdhas been on a journey these last few calendar month , to say the least . The 3 - year - old Aussie was out on a camping stumble with his parents , Don and Kim Carpus , back in July when he became lost in the woods . The match begin an in - deepness search for the lack doggo , ultimately stay at the Ocqueoc Falls State Forest Campground near the northern tip of Michigan ’s lower peninsula for three workweek hoping for him to turn up . They ultimately left empty handed , unsure of their petty dog ’s fate .
It turns out Jinks was look for them , too , but in a very different direction . His next confirmed sighting would n’t be for another four months , from the urban center of Charlevoix , Mich. , some 70 miles aside from where he went overlook !

Pastors Susan and Randy Hitts found Jinks , who was curled up , seek shelter under their RV , which look a lot like one belonging to Jinks ' family . Susan brought the tired , fur - matted dog inside and line up that Jinks ' neckband and ID tags were still around his neck . To fulfil that , Susan drove 40 mile with her fresh furred friend so as to get the pupper back to his kinsperson .
" I got to witness the most beautiful reunification , " Susan’sFacebook postabout the return read . " He seems healthy , but is certainlyready for the groomerdue to burrs and fur mat . "
Jinks is happy to be home and the Carpus family is once again complete . And that ’s something that Susan Hitts is just felicitous to have been a part of .
