This little guy cable , a klipspringer antelope native to substitute - Saharan Africa , was born April 15 at the Brevard Zoo in Melbourne , Fla. , the zooannouncedlast week . Our crony weighed only 27.5 ounces — about 1.7 pound — at nascence .

The calf , who does n’t have a name yet , is the 9th klipspringer born at the Brevard Zoo . He ’s presently bonding with his mom , 4 - year - sometime Deborah , before he debuts in the public exhibit . His dad is 6 - twelvemonth - old Ajabu .

According to the zoo , the newest klipspringer will grow to between 18 and 40 pounding . While the antelope might take care kickshaw and frail , they ’re actually quite acrobatic . They spent most of their lives on rock-and-roll formation called koppie , using their midget but specially engineered hooves to climb , stomach motionless , and jump .

And , man , can they jump . According to theSan Diego Zoo , klipspringers can derail 10–12 foot into the air , which is just ridiculous . Basically , if they had thumb , they could easy dunk a hoops on a regulation hoop .
So here ’s a barren idea , the Brevard Zoo zookeepers : Put a mini - hoop in our little Michael ’s or Lebron ’s new habitat — just to see what happens .
