I am the manager of an eleven - mammal house : one very busy teen , one old churl , a catthat hides , seven papillon , and me . Actually , what I ’m in charge of is picking up and putting off whatever they leave behind and also their amusement .

The oldest one was very frightened of dogs , so I took her to domestic dog shows as often as I could , thinking that vulnerability to dogs in a controlled environment might accustom her to them .
And it did . After about six months , she walked right up to a papillon coming out of the ring in its owner ’s arms . The dog buss her , and middle gleam , she said , “ Oh , Grammy , I want one of these . ”
Success!I assured her we would get one and divide the cost so we would both own it . After wait at the papillon terms tag ( draft ) , I decided her “ one-half ” was $ 100 . I figured if she could save up that much , she was ready fordog responsibility . I tell her that she had to be six years old and hold open up money to pay for her half and then we would get one . Naming their puppies

Because I could not picture myself holler for Tink or Twinkle for the next ten to fifteen years ( and I ’m trusted I would mix the two up on occasion and yell for Tinkle ) , I tried combining two of her favored names into something else . Belle looked as if she had a masquerade on ( a typical papillon puppy facial expression ) , so I suggested we name her after a distaff criminal , Belle Starr , so BelleStarr she became . For future reference , I should see to search thing up before suggesting them to a six - year - honest-to-god .
Then along comes number four…
I bred English cocker spaniel spaniel about twenty twelvemonth ago , and the daughter recognize this . We had looked at the pictures . Nothing would do but that they have their own bedding of puppies .

Belle had two puppy in her last litter . I give the female to a very close friend . I was on the verge of placing the male person with a class who came complete with a veterinary ’s recommendation when the previous churl say , “ We ca n’t place that child with small fry . ” So the man who constantly complained about pick up after so many firedog talked me into keeping our 6th papillon , a male we mention Popstar , Poppy for short .
