The weenie formerly known as Forrest Stump is trying to chance his pawfect match .
A saving pup could soon have a full set of paw thanks to the creative minds of a gamy school class .
The dog , formerly describe Forrest Stump , came to Wisconsin from Texas at 4 calendar month old with a missing paw , WDJTreported . The pup was rescued by theTexas Rescue Riders , a deliverance chemical group that saves pets in rural Texas and transfer them to nurture homes and adopters in the Midwest . Forrest , along with his mum and siblings , were find live on under a camper , agree toTMJ4 .

Jessica Lietzke , the Stephen Foster and espousal coordinator at Texas Rescue Riders , toldTMJ4that they often work withspecial require petsbecause they ’re willing to take on challenging case that can incur in high spirits costs .
Sara Gauthier , an engine room instructor in Racine , Wis. , decided to assign her stratum a unique and worthful project . She challenged her students to plan and create a prosthetic paw for Forrest , who was living with Lietzke .
Gauthier say TMJ4 this project is more meaningful to the students than a typical assignment .
" It ’s endue for the kids to essay way harder than if it was just something that I came up with in the classroom and say , ' Here make this , I ’m the only one that ’s going to see it . ' Now , it ’s really putting the pressure on them in understanding that this is really going to be used and what I ’m doing really counts , really matters , " Gauthier order .
WDJTreported on the students ' unconscious process for contrive their prosthetics . They first measure one of Forrest ’s paw , and also took photo of it using a 3 - D laser . After these first few steps , the students worked in mathematical group to create custom paws for Forrest .
Gauthier toldWDJTin a later consultation that one of the challenges students faced when designing their prosthetic paws was the fact that because he is a pup , Forrest had grown since the class had measured him .
Even with this challenge , one of the designs seemed to be a good tantrum for the pup , and Gauthier told the news station that " he actually got up and walked on it for a minute or so . "
It ’s been an exciting month for Forrest . He was recentlyadoptedand now goes by his new name Harvey , and WDJT reports his raw crime syndicate is hoping his final prosthetic will be quick to go by March .
